Da're: Thank you very much. It's an honor to be apart of RedAnkH Mag!

ReDankH: The CEO of RedAnkH (Ashlee' Laughlin) has been following your progress by checking in with Victor Emerson. Vic and Ashlee' are good friends. We have heard of your singing abilities and was anxious to hear your first song, "All For Love."

Da're: Yeah! I enjoy working with Vic, he's a great guy to work with. Did you hear the song yet?

ReDankH: Yes I did (from myspace), I like it alot!

Da're: That's great to hear...Thank you so much!

ReDankH: You're welcome! When did you start singing?

Da're: I started singing at the age of four. I sang my mother down the aisle.

ReDankH: Wow really? How was that? I bet your Mom loved it.

Da're: It was so much fun and my mom was very excited and proud of me! She shows everyone the tape lol

ReDankH: How did you discover that you could sing?

Da're: Well my mother and father sang together in a group and I was always around them. I started doing what they were doing and opened my mouth lol

ReDankH: So music has always been apart of your life? You must have known that you wanted to sing from the first day you tried it.

Da're: Yes I did. That's all I did when I discovered I could. My mom can't get me to shut up now!

ReDankH: At least you can sing!

Da're: Thank you.

ReDankH: You're welcome! What is your inspiration from day to day ?

Da're: Honestly my mother has always been my inspiration. She sings so beautiful and she's the one who taught me voice control before I went to a vocal coach. Michael Jackson would definitely be the second inspiration. Day to day it varies.

ReDankH: I love Michael Jackson! How did you feel when he passed away?

Da're: I was heart broken! I never cried that hard in my life..

ReDankH: I love the dedication song on your Myspace by the way.

Da're: Aww thank you so much! He was the greatest.

ReDankH: Yeah he was. But he gave alot of people inspiration and great music .

Da're: Yes he did!

ReDankH:Who would you like to open up for if you were ever given the opportunity to? ..and why??

Da're: I would love to open up for Beyonce, Neyo, Usher..They are great entertainers. I love their energy and their realness. They bring life to the stage when they perform

ReDankH: I agree..all three are very multi-talented.

ReDankH: But you are too. Are you a dancer as well? And how about writing music?

Da're: Thank you. Yes I dance, I also choreograph for this dance troupe at Rider University. I do write songs as well.

ReDankH: What would you say your genre is?

Da're: I would say it's r&b mixed with pop and soul

ReDankH: Are there any songs that you absolutely love, that you would never let anyone hear you listening to? Or singing?.. I think everyone has atleast one embarassing song on their ipod..

Da're: I'm a geek for show tunes but honestly I'm one who's not afraid to let anyone hear what I listen to because I'm so outgoing and people know the real me so they accept what I listen to.

ReDankH: At least your honest! I think people should listen to whatever puts them in a good mood!

Da're: I agree. Yes, it's always good to keep it real.

ReDankH: Yes it is.

Da're: Musicals put me in a good mood half of the time.

ReDankH: How has Victor Emerson or Vic as we would call him -inspired you and encouraged you to persue singing?

Da're: Vic is into music just like I am and more. He's serious about his music and he also teaches me history of music so Vic makes me want to continue to do better and make it to the top.

ReDankH: When did you all meet?

Da're: [I ]met Vic at school, in the beginning of last semester. I danced with his girlfriend and she told him about my singing abilities

ReDankH: Ok, So.. What was the first song Vic ever heard you sing?

Da're: He heard me sing Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing" ..The woman who inspired my mom.

ReDankH: Wow thats a great song! (Kudo's to Whitney for that hit!) What did he say? From that point did you guys immediately start focusing on music?

Da're: I can't remember word for word but he did tell me that I did a wonderful job and that I can sing. He then told me about his work and invited me to come sing with Select Few. We stayed in touch and then got started shortly after.

ReDankH: What can you say about being in the studio with the Select Few camp?

Da're: What I've experienced so far is a hard working good time and I enjoy recording.

ReDankH: Thats good. Are you the only female artist?

Da're: So far I am. I like being the only female, (Laughs)

ReDankH: Yeah I bet. Its good to be the only one!

Da're: Yes it is.

ReDankH : Who is the mind behind the lyrics? I know you write, but do you write all of your lyrics?

Da're: Vic and I are the main minds behind the music but there's also Alvetron and there is another male who writes but I can never get his name right.

ReDankH: Okay..So have you had the chance to perform at all??

Da're: Not my songs yet but I have been performing for weddings and funerals and other events.

ReDankH: Oh okay. What's the last concert/performance that you attended?

Da're: The "Glow in the Dark tour".. Kanye West ft. Rihana, Lupe Fiasco, and Nerd.

ReDankH: Oh okay where was that at? I bet it was fun! How did it make you feel to see all of those well known artists on the stage?

Da're: In Philly. It was great and I wanted to be up there so bad with them..I love performing!

ReDankH: Here is our trademark question..What are the lyrics to your absolute favorite song? Cite the artist and the Song title.

Da're: "Girl close your eyes, let that rhythm get into you. Don't try to fight it, there ain't nothing that you can do...Artist is Michael Jackson "Rock With You".

Da're: Him in that Silver glittery body suit! ...Awesome. I want the outfit and I want to redo the song if I can.

ReDankH: (Laughs) and all the lights in the background?

Da're: Yeah those lights are great!

ReDankH: How did you hear about Redankh Magazine?

Da're: I heard through Vic. He's the one who told me about it and I was excited to do the interview!

ReDankH: Anyone that has been following RedAnkH and the mastermind behind it all would know that this entire creation is inspired by Neo Soul and symbolic egyptian symbols; What Neo Soul artist are you feeling right now and why?

Da're: Musiq. His music is so calming. I love his songs and I would love to work with him one day.

ReDankH: If there is anything you could say to the RedAnkh Family about Da're...What would it be?
